Great ways to detox and relax your mind

It's so important to take some time out to recuperate and relax because we live such busy lives. Between work, family and social obligations it's important to find time for yourself. If you can find at least 10 to 20 minutes a day, you'll find it a little easier to cope with life's challenges. Here are some things you can do:


1. Find a quiet spot to meditate, where you won't be disturbed. Meditating in the morning helps you start your day right whereas if you meditate at night, it could help you sleep better. The meditation can be as short as 5 minutes.


2. Go on a 24 hr social media detox. It can be so overwhelming answering emails or trying to keep up with everything and everyone on social media.


3. Go for a 20-minute walk. I like to wear my earphones while I'm walking either listening to some uplifting music or doing a walking meditation. This helps clear the mind.


4. Have a mini pamper session. Put on a face mask for 15 to 20 minutes and just relax until it's time to wash it off.


5. Read a book for 20 minutes. I like to do this at night before I go to sleep instead of scrolling through social media, it slows down my monkey mind.


6. Cuddle a pet. One of my favourite things to do. Our pets help us forget what's going on in our lives for a little while and just concentrate on them.
